Teachers can't give students "the strap" anymore. No switch of willow-stem. No standing in the corner. No Dunce caps (though certain paper stock is still called foolscap).
I vote we allow teachers a tactical punishment, in response to unruly student behaviour. Of course, such redress can not be delivered while the educator may be angry with the strident student. The penal measure is deferred for an hour or so, and delivered by some detached third party. I would hope the teacher be allowed to watch, but no cheering.
I can hear it now - the lunchtime P.A. messages drone over the heads of the hallway throngs, as usual, then, instead of detention notices, a brief list:
" Kevin, Curtis, Wally, Kerry and George - please report to Coach Tank's wrestling class, where they will be using you to practice choke holds, among other things."

A: The first time it was because the lyrics to the Buzzcocks song ("Running Free") seemed to make more sense in terms of the story than the first lyrics ("Chinese Rocks" by the Heartbreakers/Ramones). I liked the line "it's a trick of the torment, you tend to forget yourself" because of all the amnesia Adam suffers. The second time I changed it was because I got paranoid about using someone else's lyrics and getting sued, so I wrote some myself.

I had read the comic version like two years ago on Bluuurred comic site. When I saw the image again on Face Book, something looked kind of familiar bt I really thought I was seeing it for the first tim. Then in the last pic here it dawned on me .(My son happens to be playing epic Star Wars music in the background)
